In training

You've basically been in training since you were born - first on your changing table, now in your activity gym. As soon as we put you down, you begin what we call "your exercises." You start kicking out your legs as if you're dancing a jig, and you make little chubby fists with your hands and start flailing your arms around above your head and in front of you. You can do this for half an hour or more quite happily, especially if your music is playing.

Since I carried you for forty weeks, I am somehow not surprised. Even at your twenty-week ultrasound, the technician told your dad and me "this is a very active baby." You never stopped moving, and that's the case even now.

Since you were about four weeks old, you've been standing in my lap, and at about six weeks, you started taking little steps. When you "walk" on my lap, you point your toes and turn your feet out, like a little ballerina.

Your dad and I are always wondering what sports you will play - he is hoping for soccer so he can play with you, and your little turned-out steps make me think you will try ballet. Anything that makes you happy will be A-OK by us. It's just fun to ponder.

xx
